Staff was nice!! I think they would be much more successful if they made it more of a sanctuary for animals in need. Not go and trap animals to bring them there. They go to Louisiana to get more gators when they start running low....
Was a great place! We came to Hot Springs for vacation and did a search on best places to visit and this came up. Stopped by for a short stop and we were very pleased! The staff is SUPER FRIENDLY and the grounds and animals are very well cared for. A wide variety of animals (about a dozen species) and a nice petting zoo area. Would definitely recommend!
This place seemed like a cool place to bring kids and my kids actually liked it. The staff was friendly. But when I was there I got a very disturbed feeling about the treatment of the animals. The baby alligators were all piled up on each other, as well as the adults. I was curious if they mated them or they were more a rescue place. They said they tried to mate them, but we're not successful... they were told maybe there ponds were too shallow. That just broke my heart. The enivorment these guys are in won't even allow then to mate! Then there was that poor mountain lion... Did they trap it?? The enclosure was just too small and it looked so sad.
Depressing. Animals are obviously extremely sad and hate their lives. This place needs to be shut down. Turned our fun day very sad.
Family owned and run tourist attraction. Very friendly and helpful staff. Be sure and watch the video looping in the lobby of 1 of the brothers getting bit by an alligator during a public show feeding. Your mouth will be open. He was there still working with battle scar stitches and all. I loved holding the baby alligator. Very affordable and a lot to see besides the alligators. Good souvenirs at a reasonable price.
My entire family enjoyed this place. They got to feed the gators and hold the small ones. They had peacocks, lemurs, turtles, goats and a wolf. The goats were cute. The goats did jump on you if you took the bread inside the fence which is what I did , and it was awesome. My son loved petting the turtles as well. We would go back!
Next.... it was very smelly and dirty. My kids didn't mind, but I was super paranoid and still am for the next 24 hrs... one of them will get salmonella poisoning. VERY dirty.
