Servers were very nice. The food was delicious! I like how they have alot of variety because, it's hard for a family of 5 to agree on a place to eat. Next time I'm in Hot Springs we will definitely be eating here.
My family stopped in after checking out reviews which were all pretty positive. It was around 9 pm after a trip to Garvan gardens that took much longer than expected due to traffic so we were all famished. The place seemed nice and the waiter was attentive. As we waited for our food, there was a loud constant noise coming from the kitchen. My husband said that it sounded like a pressure washer. Every time the kitchen door was opened, you could see someone who appeared to be pressure washing the floor. I waved it off not thinking anything was strange BC I know nothing of health code violations in a restaurant kitchen or pressure washers for that matter, but my husband was very disturbed over it. I told him maybe he should ask the manager about it if it bothered him this much. The night manager, not thinking anything of it as if this were normal procedure, showed him what they were doing. The floors were being pressure washed and the dirt and whatever black residue from the floor was being splattered up onto the area where food was being prepared. As soon as my husband returned, he looked at me and our 3 kids and said, "don't eat. Let's go." The manager comped our meal and we left immediately. Needless to say, a huge disappointment that a restaurant can seem to have such great food but they don't seem to care to make sure it's safe to eat.
My husband and I ordered an early dinner here at 4:45 pm on Thursday, December 21, 2017. Considering it was not at the hustle and bustle of dinner time, it took an excessive amount of time to receive our dinner. We had already run out of bread to eat and weren't offered anymore prior to receiving our dinner. I requested extra sauce with my Napa Chicken when i ordered it from the menu--only to find that I was charged $1.99 extra when I received my bill. When I asked for a to-go box for my chicken, I requested some sauce in a to-go container. I was charged an ADDITIONAL charge of ANOTHER $1.99. That was an ADDITIONAL $3.98 plus tax just for some sauce. I could have ordered another whole order of chicken !!!
Terrible experience, almost 2 hours to have our meal because the waiter would just disappear for long periods of time.Then the waiter "Hector" brought our ticket and it appeared to be too much. But there was no list of our food just a bill total. When we made him bring us the itemized bill it showed and $13.85 service charge. When questioned he said it was automatic for six or more. I told him that I could count and 3 adults and 2 kids = 5. Then he said well then it was automatic because we ordered an appetizer. He said he couldn't remove it. I demanded he remove it and he did. But he was going to hustle us. By not giving us the detailed bill and just bringing the small sheet with the total and a line for a tip. He would have gotten the $13.85 plus another tip even though the service was terrible, we still would have left a small tip. Instead he got nothing which is what he deserved. We have always had good food and service there in the past. But tonight was a whole different crew and we probably won't be back.
Large menu made me worried, everything from Mexican to American to Italian and Asian. Was amazing. Tasty, fresh reasonably priced, my husband had steak, I had pasta. We were both impressed. Service was a bit slow, but not worth crabbing about unless you are in a rush. Highly recommend.
While we were waiting for the check/Bill, I used the Ladies Room. Imagine my surprise when there was ABSOLUTELY NO TOILET PAPER !!! WOW !!!
