TL;DR the food is decent, but don't get the nachos. Also my cup looked like someone cleaned it with rocks
Nothing but good things to say about this place. Came here for dinner while visiting the Hot Springs and was pleasantly surprised. A nicely decorated spot with interesting decor and pleasant service. Not only was the food good, but our waitress was amazing. I had the queso Blanca and it was some of the best I've ever tried. We got the tortilla soup, a vegetarian combo and poblano chicken which was all very nice and overall we enjoyed our assortment of flavorful food. Not expensive for what we got and it looked like they had some decent drinks too.
Over all it was pretty good. Met all my expectations. Service was good. Our blended margarita wasn't what we're used to, but it was still good. I ordered their Colorado Burrito. I liked it. We were too full for dessert.
Run of the mill Tex-Mex. Grilled Southwest vegetables tasted like they had been just thrown on dirty grill and barely warmed, no seasoning. Service was good right up until we paid bill. Then I couldn't get last cup of coffee that I paid $3 for.
First impression, the good smelled great so I was already pleased. After a good ten minute wait for a table with eleven people we were seated. Good timing. Took another ten minutes for our drinks to get ordered and then another ten to get them. Kinda busy so not so bad, but my mood is declining fast. I see fajita nachos on the menu and decide to get them. Note that anything on the menu pretty much will have tomato, lettuce, guacamole, and onion on it but not say it on the menu. No big deal if I don't want it I'll eat around it, however I got EIGHT chips with a bit of meat, but plenty of cheese, onion, and bell pepper. The onions and pepper could have been cooked more, but it was the price of eight chips for $10 that really bothered me.
After building this place up to some friends we made the hour long drive to find them closed for Christmas vacation week. Nothing posted on website stating them being closed. But went to “Jose’s” for some great food and service!!
